Everyone’s focus is striving for success in whatever makes them happy. To begin, the title “Dare to Soar” gives off the affirmation and main idea of this book. The author is compelling readers to achieve and accomplish things at a higher level, a better level, a challenging level. The picture of the eagle on the front cover intrigued me and I found myself staring at all the small eagles on the front and back covers of this book. The eagle is the strongest bird and wisest bird in the bird family. As poets, we have to be strong and wise about the way we write and invoke emotions. When I flipped the book over and read the back cover, I just melted and had a pause for tears. I commend Navarro for sharing his history on how he was inspired to become a poet. It’s a blessing to hear a minister and known speaker detail and craft their life’s past for others to see. Thank you for mentioning the new term to me, “floetry”. Being a poet for over six years, my heart goes out to your endeavoring efforts.Inside the foreword, the single sentence “they dared to soar” is sectioned off as Navarro gives you examples of successful people who dared to soar. Nothing can be accomplished by sitting down and waiting. I hovered over the Thanks and Dedication page and found upmost respect for Navarro. He recognizes that this passionate gift of writing poetry comes from God Almighty. I too, recognize the same thing.
As I began reading the poems inside of this book, I enjoyed the organization and categorization by themes. The author gives a brief introduction to the theme he is presenting. Then, he displays poems for that theme alone. I enjoyed the Personas theme the most and my favorite poem out of the whole book is A Better Life on page 98. As poets, we sometimes box ourselves into a corner and have a pity party. We let rejection and disregard overpower us and this poem is a reminder to me that I don’t need carnal things to satisfy my emotional well-being. I am satisfied as I lift my pen and dazzle ink on paper.
Navarro, God bless you and NavWorks Press for what you’re doing. Continue in your mission and remain active in the community of Los Angeles. The fade for poetry is becoming dissonant and it’s through poets like us, we can keep the harmony and passion going. In closing, I recommend this book to Christian poets and those that may see poetry as false imagination. To those who aren’t quite sure how to define success in their lives, this book is for you! If you’re already motivated, but need a spring filled with reaffirmations, this book is good for you. A great book of poetry, a heart-felt book of poetry, and a life-changing book of poetry!

I haven't read the book yet but I have read some Floetry and if the book is as good as the work I read then it's worth buying.
This is the most heart warming & inspirational book I have ever read. I tend to read the pages over & over again. It is very healing & very easy to relate to. David is a very talented writer. I know I will read this book many times of his pearls of wisdom
In "Dare to Soar," David Navarro gathers wise and witty observations about humanity, city life, the countryside, and people. He entertains, challenges and delights in this accumulation of 30 years of writing.
He even ponders pondering in poems like The Deepest Matters, Walk Beyond, and Indomitable.
He journeys across the American landscape and has fun along the way. Included are tributes to Robert Frost, Charles Dickens, and E.E. Cumings. "Dare to Soar" offers something for everyone.
Dare to Soar is brilliant and accessible. David E Navarro speaks to the reader, it's as though you are having a cup of coffee with a friend, who is part reading and part just talking his poetry to you. And his poetry is a welcomed tonic for the mind and the heart. I have read through Dare to Soar twice now and will certainly read it again. I look forward to more publications from Mr. Navarro.

The very first poem I read from this book was, "For Which We Stand" (pg.88) I read it aloud to my husband as we were traveling in the truck. This prompted a long and enjoyable discussion between us for the duration of the hour-long drive. This whole book is full of thought-provoking insights,by a gifted word crafter. Each poem and chapter will carry you along on a journey that is a feast for the soul. Each chapter builds upon the other and within each, treasures found. You will devour them at first then savor them one by one later. He also explains and teaches in this book. I love the blue ring-necked conyer on the cover.
Dave Navarro writes as a citizen of the world and a very human being.
One who observes everyone & everything around him...with a keen and intuitive
eye. He writes with curiosity, amusement, delight and dismay...but there is still hope
in every word of every line. This book resonates and remains imbedded in the mind
, heart and soul.There is such wisdom, patience, compassion & love to be found in this book...
